ACV-CSCIASIA.ORG, JAKARTA – The National Executive Council of the All Indonesian Trade Union Confederation (DEN KSBSI) attended an invitation to a meeting with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) to discuss the progress of the Kadin for Naker program, an online digital platform for employment which was launched last April, one day to be exact. before the celebration of international labor day, where this platform aims to improve workers’ skills in facing the digitalization era.
The President of KSBSI, Elly Rosita Silaban, said on this occasion that his party admitted that he had been a bit unresponsive to the progress of Kadin for Manpower. However, in the future his party will take a strong initiative in promoting the MoU and the Kadin for Naker platform.
“Actually, we are waiting for directions from Kadin regarding the Kadin for Naker program after it was launched before last May Day celebration. However, we will take more initiative in the future in socializing this digital platform, we will try to echo it more among KSBSI members first.” said Elly at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jakarta, Monday (07/08/2023).
Elly also gave input that it was important to build collaboration between the trade unions and the regional Kadin to promote the Kadi for Naker, considering that most union members are in the regions.
“We encourage collaboration between stakeholders, especially for union officials and Kadin in the regions, not only in the central and urban areas. We also support this collaboration and strive to continue to maximize the goals of the digital platform, where upskilling and reskilling are very important to get workers in this era of digitization.” explained Elly.
Meanwhile, Subchan Gatot, Chair of the Standing Committee for Development of Training, Vocational, Certification and Labor Productivity, Kadin Indonesia’s Employment Sector highlighted that this meeting focused on optimizing the MoU and the progress of launching Kadin for Naker.
“Our target until this August is at least 5,000 users of Kadin for Naker, as directed by the Ketum. We really hope for discussions and input in building this platform to make it even better.” Subchan said.
Previously, Kadin Indonesia, by involving trade unions, launched the Kadin For Naker platform.
In her remarks, Elly Rosita Silaban, President of KSBSI said KSBSI welcomed the collaboration between employers, the government and labor unions, especially in launching this Kadin for laborers.
“Hopefully this platform can answer the challenges of workers/laborers in facing the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 to Society 5.0.” Elly said at the launch of the Kadin for Naker platform at the Archery Field, Gelora Bung Karno Complex (GBK), Jakarta last April.
Also present at the meeting, Martuah Raja Deputy for Consolidation of the KSBSI DEN, Emma Liliefna Deputy for the KSBSI DEN Program, Sugandi, Vocational Expert Staff for the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
